Game 4 Recap vs. Carolina Queens

After a long break, the Washington Prodigy (5-0) returned to their home field to take on a foe from their former league, the Carolina Queens (1-3). And although they faced the most resistance they've seen all season, the Prodigy came out on top 36-0.

The Prodigy opened the game on their own 43-yard line and after marching down the field, Running back LaNia Charity capped the series with a 3-yard touchdown run.

A long ensuing kickoff by Lindsey Walton pinned Carolina at their 4 yard line as their offense took the field. An incomplete pass was followed by a quarterback sack for a safety by Defensive End Benita Rouse, making the score 9-0 in the first quarter.

A long kickoff run from Charity put the Prodigy in scoring position once again, with running back Monecho Cousar punching in a short yardage touchdown for the home team.

With 2 seconds left in the half, Keshia Cousar intercepted a 15 yard pass from her former team to send the Prodigy to the locker room up 16-0.

Halfway into the second half, Running back Cheri 'Lil Mimi' Gantt used some quick cuts and a 20-yard burst of speed to outrun Carolina's defense for a 57 yard touchdown. Gantt would score again on a 5 yard run later in the third quarter. A two-point conversion from Victoria Lyles to Ashley Botts put Washington on top 30-0.

Running back M. Cousar scored a 5-yard touchdown with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter, sending Carolina home with a 36-0 loss.
